In an exclusive interview with Extra during the premiere of her docuseries “In the Arena: Serena Williams,” the American opened up about why she felt it was important to show behind-the-scenes of her journey.

Williams explained that while fans see her Grand Slam wins, trophies, and finals, they often miss the intense behind-the-scenes training and dedication that made those victories possible.

Now, since stepping away from tennis, she’s found a new focus with her children, Olympia and Adira, whom she calls her “biggest love.”

“They’re like my biggest love, so I’m obsessed with those kids,” Serena Williams said.

She also noted how she has channeled the same intensity from her tennis career into raising her kids and into her businesses,

“I think I put all that intensity that I had in tennis into my children because I’m super hands-on,” Williams added. “Also, I have a couple of businesses between my venture company and WYN Beauty… so, putting a lot of effort and passion behind things that I’m passionate about.”

Notably, Williams' businesses include WYN Beauty and her venture capital firm, Serena Ventures. WYN Beauty, her skincare line, focuses on promoting "makeup you can move in." Serena Ventures, meanwhile, supports diverse founders and aims to foster meaningful change.
