Iga Swiatek next tournament: All you need to know about the Pole's schedule to end 2024 season

While Iga Swiatek's individual season has already come to an end, she still has one more assignment before she can wrap up her 2024 season for good. She will lead Poland's charge at the Billie Jean King Cup Finals from November 13-20, and aim to secure the first title for her home country.

Swiatek didn't compete in the Billie Jean King Cup finals the last two years. The tournament is held just a few days after the conclusion of the WTA Finals, leaving top players with little time to recover. She won the year-end championships last year and made the semifinals the year before that.

The WTA Finals were also held in North America in the last two years, and traveling to Europe would be another long journey. However, Swiatek is well rested this time. She skipped the Asian swing completely, and her title defense at the WTA Finals concluded in the group stage itself, leaving her with enough energy to partake in the Billie Jean King Cup finals.

Poland's campaign will begin against Spain on November 13 and will pit Swiatek against Paula Badosa. A win will set up a quarterfinal showdown against the Czech Republic on November 16, and the five-time Major champion will face Karolina Muchova in her singles tie.

Possible semifinal opponents for Poland include Italy, Japan, or Romania. The semifinals will be contested on November 18 and 19. Should Poland advance to the final, they could meet one of the following six countries - USA, Canada, Australia, Germany, Great Britain, or Slovakia, on November 20. Their chances of winning have gotten a massive boost with Iga Swiatek's participation.

Iga Swiatek has a solid record across most events that she participates in, and it is the same story at the Billie Jean King Cup as well. Since making her debut for Poland in 2018, she has amassed a 9-2 record in singles, and a 2-1 record in doubles.

Swiatek is also on a seven-match winning streak in singles at the Billie Jean King Cup, with her last loss coming in 2019. She has usually participated in the preliminary rounds since 2020 and has won six of her seven matches in straight sets.

The two matches Swiatek played this year were against Switzerland's Simona Waltert and Celine Naef in the qualifying rounds in April, and they were routine wins. She will now compete in the finals for the first time in her career.
