Serena Williams hosted the 2024 ESPY Awards on 11 July and her multiple outfits during the event caught the eye of the internet. At the 32nd annual ceremony of the award, the American tennis legend became the fourth woman to host the event.
The event was held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The ESPY (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly) Awards are produced by ESPN and the ceremony commemorates extraordinary individual and team athletic performances in the past calendar year.
When it came to her appearance, the 42-year-old turned up in seven different outfits during the event. She was styled by Kesha McLeod. Williams dazzled the audience with multiple dresses including a pink dress with frills, a long dark red dress, and an Armani Privé gown.
Williams had several memorable moments during the event, as the host. She commented on NFL player Harrison Butker's remarks on women pursuing professional careers.
She also seemingly made the media the target of some comments through satirical jokes mentioning Prince Harry and Meghan. Williams also joked about LeBron James' receding hairline, and most of these moments have gone viral on the internet.

Prince Harry and Meghan were also in attendance at the 2024 ESPY Awards which was hosted by Serena Williams. The American introduced the royal couple with some tongue-in-cheek remarks.
"Please, Meghan & Harry, try not to breathe too much tonight, I don’t want to be overshadowed by the accusations that you’re taking up too much oxygen," Williams said.
She seemingly targeted media houses with her comments. The couple have been under great scrutiny in the media, with media houses trying to keep tabs on each move made by the pair.
Further, the 23-time Grand Slam winner joked about LeBron James' hairline. She congratulated James' son Bronny on being drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers this season. Bronny is expected to play with his father soon. Williams said she hoped that Bronny would have a long career, and added a joke involving LeBron James:
“I truly hope Bronny has a long career. So long that he will see his hairline recede. Then miraculously un-recede… like dad," Williams said.
Williams, who hosted the ESPN-produced ESPY Awards, is the focus of the ESPN+ docuseries 'In the Arena: Serena Williams'. The first episode of the docuseries was released just days before the Awards night.
