Aryna Sabalenka recently shared a glimpse of her time with her boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, as the couple posed for a unique photograph on a tennis court. Georgios Frangulis is a race car driver and the founder and CEO of superfood brand Oakberry Acai Bowls.
Sabalenka is currently recovering from a shoulder injury that forced her to withdraw from Wimbledon just hours before her opening match against Emina Bektas. Notably, the Belarusian had to also retire during her quarterfinal clash against Anna Kalinskaya at the eco-trans Ladies Open, before her withdrawal from the London Major.
The 26-year-old will also miss the Paris Olympics 2024 owing to the injury. Amidst her recovery, Sabalenka shared glimpses of her time with her boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, on Instagram. The former World No. 1 posted a selfie with her boyfriend inside a car.
Sabalenka later shared another image where both posed on a tennis court with their backs facing the camera. The couple wore matching t-shirts with their nicknames and birth years printed on them. The 2-time Major champion tagged her boyfriend in both the images.
Sabalenka and Frangulis often share glimpses of their time together on social media. The couple recently shared highlights from their getaway in Greece. Both were seen in an adorable picture with purple flowers in the background. Moreover, Sabalenka wore an outfit that matched the color of the flowers while her boyfriend sported a purple watch.
"I'm not 100% ready" - Aryna Sabalenka said before her Wimbledon 2024 campaign
Aryna Sabalenka had said during her pre-tournament press conference at Wimbledon that she was not completely fit to play in the marquee event.
"I'm not 100% fit physically. We're doing everything we can to make sure we play the first match here, but no, I'm not 100% ready," she said (via Punto de Break).
The Belarusian expressed her frustration over the injury, revealing that she endured pain throughout the previous month.
"It's really frustrating. I've never been through a serious injury. It's already a lot to go through now. The last month has been very challenging, I've been struggling with a lot of pain. It's a mental battle as well, you have to find the positive side."
Following her emphatic triumph at the Australian Open final earlier this year, Aryna Sabalenka's best performance came at the Madrid Open and the Italian Open, where she reached the finals. However, the 26-year-old lost to Iga Swiatek on both occasions.
