The former World No. 1 also confessed that the nature of the schedule was also detrimental to his inner motivation to go into a tournament and play tennis at his best level. He stated that he was at his best on the court when he was fresh from a mental perspective.
"Sometimes, you don't want to go to a tournament... I'm not going to lie – I have felt this way a few times already....Sometimes I don't feel motivated at all. But as I've said many, many times, I play my best tennis when I smile and enjoy it on court. That's the best option to keep motivating" added Alcaraz (via beinsports.com)
Alcaraz finished the season having played 67 matches, of which he won 54, winning four titles.
