In Pictures: Caroline Wozniacki prepares 2-year-old son James for winter as husband David Lee and daughter Olivia join them for scenic boat outing
Caroline Wozniacki enjoys her off-court life with her family. Recently, she was seen preparing her two-year-old son James for winter with cute, fluffy outfits. The family also embarked on scenic boat outings together.
Wozniacki uploaded an image of her son James, who turned two on October 24, getting ready for winter.
In the image, James was all bundled up wearing a cozy green snowsuit with a fur-lined hood, which looked perfect for cold weather. He also donned a knitted, green-and-white patterned hat with ear flaps and two pom-pom "ears" on top, adding a cute, playful touch.
A few hours later, Wozniacki again posted an Instagram story, this time, with her husband David Lee, and their three-year-old daughter Olivia for a scenic boat ride.
"It can get a little tricky" - Caroline Wozniacki on balancing motherhood and tennis
2018 Australian Open champion Caroline Wozniacki married former NBA player David Lee in 2019. At the Melbourne Slam in 2020, the Dane said goodbye to tennis as she wanted to focus on her family life. The couple welcomed daughter Olivia in 2021 and son James in 2022.
After the birth of their children, Wozniacki felt it was the right time to come back to the sport. During the North American hard court swing in 2023, the former World No. 1 returned to the court. She reached the fourth round but lost to eventual champion Coco Gauff.
At the 2024 US Open, Wozniacki managed another bright start steamrolling her way into the fourth round losing only 12 games in three matches. After her third-round win over Jessika Ponchet, Wozniacki opened up about how she balances motherhood and tennis.
"Obviously, my kids are there every single day, and I really appreciate it. It's the best job in the world, and I love it," Wozniacki said during a press conference.
"But also, you know, I try to make sure that I am still there as 100% present mom while I'm also trying to balance, you know, being the best tennis player that I possibly can be. I think that's where sometimes it can get a little tricky. Obviously my family is the most important thing to me, but at the same time, I love winning," she added.
Wozniacki emphasized the importance of taking time to rest, practice, and play, even if it means stepping away from her kids for a few hours. Although she sometimes feels "mom guilt," she does her best to manage it effectively.
