In pictures: Gael Monfils and wife Elina Svitolina dazzle in Giorgio Armani for Bal de la Rose 2023
Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina enjoyed a night out at the 2023 Bal de la Rose, also known as the Monaco Rose Ball, an annual event held to benefit the Princess Grace Foundation.
Monfils recently returned home after suffering an unfortunate exit from the Miami Open due to an injury setback during his match against Ugo Humbert. The Frenchman was making his return to the ATP Tour after a seven-month-long injury layoff.
He was unable to make a strong statement on his comeback as he suffered first-round defeats in both of his tournaments in the US prior to his wrist injury in Miami.
Gael Monfils met up with his wife Elina Svitolina and daughter Skai on his return to Monte-Carlo, Monaco. Svitolina shared a heartwarming picture of the Frenchman feeding their daughter her first meal.
On March 25, the pair attended the Bal de la Rose dressed to the nines in Giorgio Armani. Gael Monfils cut a sharp figure in a classic tailored black suit paired with a black shirt. Meanwhile, Svitolina donned a baby blue floor-length gown that featured silver embellishments, matching her silver clutch and accessories. She put together a minimal makeup look and kept her hair pulled back to allow her outfit to shine.
Svitolina shared some photos of the pair enjoying their time at the Bollywood-themed event.
"Absolutely in love with our head to toe @giorgioarmani chic look for #baldelarose. Grazie," Svitolina captioned the post.
Where will Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina play next?
Gael Monfils was very disappointed with his wrist injury derailing his comeback on the ATP Tour.
"I couldn't help but get hurt again, it must be something I don't do well. It's not what I want," Monfils said at the time.
His future plans are currently up in the air as he himself said that he would only get a better understanding of the extent of the injury after further evaluation.
"I will do tests and then there will be treatments. I don't know if I'll have it for two, six or more weeks if they tell me I broke my wrist and will have it for nine months, well, I'll have to think about it. But I don't think I'll have to stay still for that long," he said.
Meanwhile, Elina Svitolina will make her return to the court for the first time since becoming a mother. The 28-year-old last participated in a WTA match in March 2022 at the Miami Open. On March 18, it was announced that she had accepted a wildcard to the 2023 Charleston Open to kickstart her comeback to the WTA Tour.
