In Pictures: Iga Swiatek puts WTA Finals exit behind her with Riyadh sightseeing tour, coach Wim Fissette & psychologist Daria join her for company
Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek was spotted spending time with her team members in Riyadh. This comes just a few days after the 23-year-old's group stage exit from the 2024 WTA Finals.
Swiatek entered the tournament as the defending champion and also registered two victories against Barbora Krejcikova and Daria Kasatkina in the group stage. However, a loss to Coco Gauff eventually lowered her chances of making it to the competition's semifinals.
Swiatek needed Gauff to win her clash against Krejcikova after she defeated Kasatkina on Thursday (Nov 7). However, the American player was denied a single set by the 28-year-old Czech player during the match, leading to the World No.2's exit from the season-ending competition.
Following this exit, Swiatek was seen in a relaxed mood in Riyadh as she looked to cool off a bit after a jam-packed tennis season. She was accompanied by her coach, Wim Fissette, and performance psychologist, Daria Abramowicz. The Polish player took to her Instagram stories to share a few glimpses of her time in Riyadh.

Iga Swiatek opens up about her attendance at Rafael Nadal's last tournament scheduled after the WTA Finals
Iga Swiatek recently opened up about her attendance in Rafael Nadal's last professional tournament, the 2024 Davis Cup. The event is scheduled just ten days after the conclusion of the WTA Finals, between Nov 19-24.
At a press conference during the WTA Finals, Swiatek stated that she already has her vacation planned and is going to watch it on TV. She also mentioned that it would be difficult for her to get a place in the stadium due to the striking rise in ticket sales at the event. She said (via The Tennis Gazette):
"I have my vacation scheduled. It’s hard to pick that. It will be impossible to get there anyway as I heard it’s all booked already and the ticket sales are crazy. Maybe I will watch it on TV, but I already had a chance to text with Rafa a bit and thank him for everything he’s done."
Swiatek is a big fan of the 22-time Grand Slam title-winning Spaniard and was also in attendance during Nadal's 2024 French Open clash against Alexander Zverev.
