In Pictures: Jannik Sinner joins Ryan Gosling, Salma Hayek & other celebrities in intimate dinner with Gucci at London event

Jannik Sinner recently attended an intimate dinner which Gucci hosted in his honour in London. He was joined by celebrities, including Ryan Gosling and Salma Hayek.

Sinner was appointed as the Global Brand Ambassador for the Italian luxury fashion house in July 2022. Since then, he has been seen sporting custom Gucci duffle bags at various tournaments, starting at the 2023 Wimbledon Championships. By carrying a Gucci duffle bag on the court at Wimbledon the World No.1 became the first player in the tournament's history to flaunt a luxury logo bag.

Jannik Sinner has since then continued to carry similar bags at the 2023 US Open, the season-ending tournament - the ATP Finals, and most recently at the 2024 French Open.

Sinner has also been featured in Gucci's "Is A Feeling" campaign, which drew inspiration from the 1980s. The campaign captured the Italian in action during his training sessions and at the international matches.

Jannik Sinner is currently in London to compete at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. On Wednesday, June 26, he was invited as the guest of honor for an intimate dinner hosted by Gucci. The event took place at the Mount Street Restaurant in Mayfair, hosted by Gucci's creative director, Sabato De Sarno.

The dinner was attended by various A-list celebrities, including Canadian actor Ryan Gosling, Mexican-American actress Salma Hayek Pinault, English actor Joe Alwyn, among others

The picture from this event very quickly made rounds on social media.

Hayek also took to social media to share a series of photos from the dinner. She captioned her post, stating that she and the other celebrities were at the Mount Street Restaurant to celebrate Jannik Sinner.

"Celebrating @janniksin with @Gucci for the upcoming @wimbledon tournament 🎾 #tennis," Hayek captioned her Instagram post.

Jannik Sinner says he "didn't know fashion at all" before joining Gucci

In an exclusive interview with GQ before his dinner with Gucci, Jannik Sinner revealed that he had little knowledge about fashion before joining the renowned Italian luxury brand.

He stated that since becoming a part of Gucci, its creative director, Sabato De Sarno, has deepened his appreciation for fashion by sharing the stories behind each unique piece of clothing.

“I didn't know fashion at all. He explains the story and the reason behind certain clothes . I like this family feeling, no? Sometimes we text each other, it's nice. I feel like, whenever he [Sabato de Sarno] works, he's very professional, but then whenever he finishes the work, he is like us, like just normal people,” Sinner said.

Sinner also talked about becoming the new World No.1. He said that achieving the top ranking holds more significance for him than winning a title, as it reflects a player's consistent performance throughout the year, rather than just a single tournament victory.

“It's important not to put any extra pressure on yourself, because it's not going to help you. Obviously everyone wants to beat you. Being number one is different from winning a big title. Number one is when you worked one whole year to get to this point and you had a beautiful year. Winning one title, you had a beautiful week,” Jannik Sinner said.

Talking about the 2024 Wimbledon Championships, Jannik Sinner expressed that playing at SW19 makes one feel the real history behind tennis. He also described the experience of competing on the Centre Court as a "nice" feeling.

“Wimbledon is the only tournament where you feel the real history of tennis. And during the point, nobody talks, the atmosphere is very different. When you play on centre court, it's nice, you know?" the Italian said.
