Jannik Sinner and Paula Badosa both made great strides in 2024. Sinner completely dominated the men's tennis landscape, winning eight titles and guiding Italy to a second consecutive Davis Cup title.

The Italian won his maiden Grand Slam title at the Australian Open and doubled the Major tally at the US Open. In addition, he took home three Masters 1000 titles (Miami, Cincinnati, and Shanghai), two ATP 500s (Rotterdam and Halle), and the ATP Finals crown in Turin. As a result, he accumulated a nearly 4,000-point advantage over World No. 2 Alexander Zverev in the ATP rankings.

Meanwhile, Badosa recovered from the injury setbacks that led to her falling out of the top 50 WTA rankings last year. Despite again suffering many injuries this year, she won the WTA 500 Citi Open in Washington D.C., reached the semifinals at the WTA 1000 tournaments in Cincinnati and Beijing, and the quarterfinals at the US Open to jump 52 spots in ranking to finish World No. 12.
