The two-time Grand Slam champion was moved by his mother's emotional reaction, reflecting on all the "sacrifices" their family had made to allow him to win one of the "most special" trophies of his career.

"I just heard that my mom was crying, which is something very cute! Only they know from my early stages, when I was around 13, how many sacrifices we made as a family also. We would have never though that we’d have this [year-end World No. 1 trophy] at home at some point," Jannik Sinner said.
"You know, these are really only dreams. And then slowly you try to improve as a player, as a person and now I am standing here with one of the, if not the most special trophies I have," he added.

Jannik Sinner is set to face Daniil Medvedev in a blockbuster clash in his final group stage match at the ATP Finals. The Italian will enter the match with an edge over Medvedev, having defeated the World No. 4 in seven of their last eight encounters.
