The 22-year-old had expressed his goal to be a good father during his Adelaide Open campaign earlier in January.

Musetti's most recent appearance was during the North American hard court swing, where he struggled to find his best form. The Italian suffered an early exit in the second round of the Cincinnati Open, losing to Frances Tiafoe. A similar outcome followed at the 2024 US Open, where Musetti reached the third round but was eliminated by Brandon Nakashima, ending his hunt for his first Grand Slam title.

During the on-court interview following his quarterfinal win at Wimbledon 2024, Lorenzo Musetti looked back at the challenging year and how he overcame the string of defeats. The Olympic bronze medalist continued to work hard despite significant life changes such as balancing his girlfriend's pregnancy and fatherhood.

"It has been almost an year, really challenging, with a lot of new experiences, with pregnancy of my girlfriend, and becoming a father, a lot of things happened and changed so probably I needed more time to find balance on everything but I am really happy because I never stopped working and never stopped believing," Musetti said (at 3:07).

The 22-year-old thanked his team, family, and loved ones for their support, stating their encouragement motivated him to improve.

"My team, my family, the people around, people that I love and that I care, pushing me to do better and these are the results," he added.

Musetti holds a 34-22 win-loss record for the 2024 season, with his standout performances being semi-final appearances at Wimbledon and the Paris Olympics. The World No. 19 will next compete at the Chengdu Open, starting on September 17.
