In Pictures: Madison Keys & husband Bjorn's wedding shenanigans ft. Sloane Stephens & husband Jozy Altidore, Jessica Pegula, Taylor Townsend
Madison Keys and long-time boyfriend Bjorn Fratangelo finally tied the knot in an official ceremony over the weekend, an occasion that witnessed attendance from some of the biggest names in American tennis at the moment. Keys' good friends Sloane Stephens, Jessica Pegula, and Taylor Townsend attended the wedding among many others, conferring their best wishes on the happy couple.
The former US Open runner-up and Fratangelo began dating in 2017 and got engaged to each other in March of last year. A tennis player himself, Keys' new husband won the French Open boys' title in 2011, becoming only the second American to win the event after John McEnroe. Now, he is also a part of Keys' coaching set-up, accompanying her to tournaments.
Over the weekend, the pair exchanged wedding vows in an intimate, cozy ceremony, joined by their friends and family. With other players in attendance having already treated fans to sneak peeks of the wedding, Keys took to social media on Monday to share the wedding celebrations herself.
In addition to official photos of herself and Bjorn, the 29-year-old also included a video of herself jovially dancing afterward with Pegula, Robson & co. With Sloane Stephens' husband Jozy Altidore also in attendance at the wedding, the two couples came together for an adorable picture as well.
Here is the complete set of endearing pictures from Madison Keys:
Bjorn Fratangelo has previously commented on his professional relationship with Keys and managing the role side-by-side with their romantic entanglement. The 31-year-old was chuffed to see his role as coach for his then-girlfriend fetch good results, with the American reaching the quarterfinals of Wimbledon and the semifinals at the US Open after getting him in her corner.
"It was a blessing to kind of have some other things to focus on. I did some coaching stuff for the USTA while I was out last fall with the juniors and stuff and I really enjoyed it. And that was kind of the first time that I thought like, ‘Wow, this coaching stuff is actually a little bit more fun than I thought it would be,’” Fratangelo said.
“When she asked if I could go to the grass-court season with her and do Eastbourne and Wimbledon, of course, I said yes. I wasn't doing much and I didn't expect to have the success that we've had and she's had," he added.
"We're best friends" - Madison Keys' husband Bjorn Fratangelo on their relationship
Speaking to the ATP Tour about their relationship last year, Madison Keys' husband Bjorn Fratangelo stated that their professional lives were helped by the fact that they were "best friends" in their personal lives as well. The American, in fact, believed that it helped him become a better coach to his wife.
“Obviously look, we're best friends. She's my fiancée. There's nothing we keep from each other and it's been very collaborative and it's been a lot of fun I think for both of us.”
Meanwhile, Keys ended the 2024 season as World No. 21, winning one title at Strasbourg.
