Nick Kyrgios is famous for his dramatic on-court antics. His girlfriend Hatzi had defended him stating that "he's not as crazy as everyone thinks." However, recently, the Aussie has come under fire for his comments.

Kyrgios has been outspoken about his displeasure with how Jannik Sinner's doping controversy was handled by the authorities. He was one of the first ones from the fraternity to make his opinion known.

The 29-year-old was already on the receiving end of some criticism for his stance before he made a seemingly derogatory comment about Sinner's girlfriend Anna Kalinskaya which put him into further trouble.

Kalinskaya and Kyrgios dated in 2020. One fan posted an image of the couple from the time they were together and Kyrgios commented:

"Second serve"

Upon receiving criticism, the Aussie defended his comment but later took it down. In her latest substack blog, Andrea Petkovic expressed her disappointment with Kyrgios' actions. She wrote:

"Nick Kyrgios on X. His escapades on there make me sad (and angry but mostly sad). He could be truly fantastic on TV but he keeps self-sabotaging with misogynist nonsense. I may not be a fan of his fashion on TV (but I'm also old - see 'things that make me happy' - and a strong believer in suits for men) but his content is great."
"Unfortunately, he taints it with his online persona. The one thing that makes or breaks somebody on TV is their authenticity and whether people choose to believe them," she added.

Tennis journalist Jon Wertheim also criticized Kyrgios' comments. He recalled the Aussie's 'misogynistic' comment from the 2015 Canadian Open when he was younger and noted that he seemingly made another derogatory comment now at the age of 29.
