Novak Djokovic greeted his fans and a large crowd present at the Champions Park in Trocadero Gardens after winning his gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He joyously celebrated his medal win with the iconic Eiffel Tower as a stunning backdrop.

Djokovic, who had previously secured a bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics by defeating James Blake, was Serbia's only tennis medalist until then. This year, he was chosen to represent his country in tennis alongside Dusan Lajovic at the Games

The Serb was the top seed in the tournament and defeated Matthew Ebden 6-0, 6-1 in the first round and Rafael Nadal 6-1, 6-4 in the second round. He then continued his winning streak by overcoming Dominik Koepfer 7-5, 6-3. and eighth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3, 7-6(3) in the third round and quarterfinals, respectively.

In the semifinals, the 37-year-old overcame eventual bronze medalist Lorenzo Musetti 6-4, 6-2, and ultimately triumphed over second seed Carlos Alcaraz 7-6(3), 7-6(2) to secure the gold medal in the men's singles event for Serbia.

By winning the gold medal in singles at the Paris Olympics, Novak Djokovic completed his Career Golden Slam, a feat of winning all four Grand Slam titles and an Olympic gold medal in singles. The Serb, who has clinched multiple Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon Championships, and US Open titles, completed his Career Golden Slam after making his fifth appearance at the Olympics.

Following his win over Carlos Alcaraz, Djokovic greeted fans at Champions Park in Trocadero Gardens, a unique setup where Olympic medalists can interact with their supporters. This special moment was set against the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower, exclusive to this year's Summer Olympics

The Serb walked the same path as the one Rafael Nadal did during the opening of the Games, and celebrated his gold medal win with his fans. He was also draped in his country's flag and posed for pictures with his medal which quickly made rounds on social media.

Speaking after his win over Carlos Alcaraz and after his gold medal win at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Novak Djokovic stated that winning the gold was "something special" for him. He even referenced the reactions of Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Andy Murray, and Alexander Zverev to winning gold for their respective countries.

“Everything [about this is special], but most of all, it is my country. It’s my pride to play for Serbia . I know Carlos and Rafa [Nadal], they love to play for Spain. Andy [Murray] loved to play for Great Britain, Roger [Federer] for Switzerland. Alex Zverev won in Tokyo for Germany. You saw the reactions of all these guys when they win. It’s something special,” he said [via ATPTour.com].

The former World No. 1 expressed that he had poured his heart and gave his all into securing the gold medal at the Paris Olympics.

“I don’t know what to say. I’m still in shock, honestly. I put my heart, my soul, my body, my family, my everything on the line to win Olympic gold at age 37. I finally did it,” he added.

Novak Djokovic was next scheduled to compete at the 2024 Canadian Open but has withdrawn from the ATP Masters 1000 tournament.
