In Pictures: Stefanos Tsitsipas & girlfriend Paula Badosa enjoy the 'simple pleasures of life' on scenic Portugal vacation
Tennis couple Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas recently enjoyed a scenic vacation in Madeira, Portugal. They recently finished their campaign at the last Grand Slam of the season, the 2024 US Open.
While Tsitsipas lost in the first round to Thanasi Kokkinakis, Badosa reached the quarterfinal, where she lost to Emma Navarro. The duo also competed in the mixed doubles, they were defeated by Giuliana Olmos and Santiago Gonzalez.
Recently, Badosa and Tsitsipas took some time off before the Asian swing and went on a vacation to Portugal. The Greek shared some pictures on his photography account 'stiopkyn'.
One picture captured his Mercedes car with a special number plate 'ST 98 GR', seemingly implying his initials, birth year, and country. He also shared some pictures and goofy videos of his girlfriend Badosa.
"Slowing down and enjoying the simple pleasures in life. A comfortable long drive across the island, a walk in the jungle, the stillness of art, the pouring rain on your skin, and observing unripe fruit in a small village. The little pleasures create memories that last," Tsitsipas captioned the Instagram post.
Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa rekindled their relationship after a brief time apart
Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa shocked the tennis world when they parted ways in May 2024. However, they rekindled their relationship a few weeks after they announced their separation. The Greek spoke about their decision to get back together in an interview with the Greek newspaper SDNA.
He said that he was going through a hard time and the pressure of the tour pushed him to make this decision.
"It was hard for us being apart and I was going through some hard times too. I would say that I didn't manage it very well either, because I was feeling the pressure of the tour, of my work. It seemed like a mountain to combine these two (personal and professional life) and I made the decision to take a break," Tsitsipas said.
The 26-year-old said they later realized that they still wanted to be together.
"After two or three weeks I realized that she is a woman who has supported me a lot and when she tried to talk to me about meeting I felt how intense the love we have for each other is," he said.
Tsitsipas talked about how his relationship with Badosa is different from any other relationship he has had in the past. He said:
"I realized that this relationship I have with Paula is completely different from any other relationship I have had in the past, I feel that she is my person and we understand each other. And that puts more value in everything I do and I want her by my side as often as possible. So yes, we've reconnected and we're in good shape!"
Recently, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa were also spotted in Monaco, driving around in an Aston Martin.
