Zheng Qinwen, Katie Boulter, and several other tennis players made a stunning appearance in stylish outfits at the 2024 Pan Pacific Open players' party in Tokyo. The tournament is scheduled to take place from 21 to 27 October 2024, at the Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo, Japan.
Qinwen is the top seed in the tournament, while Boulter is seeded ninth in the WTA 500 hard-court tournament. The World No. 7 did not compete in the tournament last year but had a runner-up finish in 2022.
In 2022, Zheng Qinwen defeated players like Misaki Doi, Paula Badosa, Claire Liu, and Veronika Kudermetova to secure her place in the final. However, she lost the title to Liudmila Samsonova in a close match, losing with a score of 5–7, 5–7.
Recently, the 2024 Pan Pacific Open players' party was attended by players such as Qinwen, Boulter, Clara Tauson, Priscilla Hon and Giuliana Olmos, among others. The World No.7 donned an elegant, sleek black ensemble, with her hair down and a small sling bag.
Meanwhile, Boulter opted for a casual look, wearing a light blue fluffy sweatshirt-like top and black pants, with her hair tied back and minimal makeup.
The official social media accounts of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) shared the images of the players.
Zheng Qinwen will face Moyuka Uchijima or Mika Stojsavljevic in Pan Pacific Open 2024 2R
Zheng Qinwen is the top seed at the 2024 Pan Pacific Open and will kick off her campaign in the second round after receiving a first-round bye. She will take on either wild card Mika Stojsavljevic or Moyuka Uchijima in the second round.
Qinwen will enter the tournament following a strong performance at the 2024 China Open, where she reached the semifinals before falling to eventual runner-up Karolina Muchova. She then advanced to the final at the Wuhan Open, only to lose the title to Aryna Sabalenka.
Qinwen has never faced Stojsavljevic or Uchijima on the WTA tour and her upcoming match against either player in the second round of the Pan Pacific Open will mark their first meeting on the tour.
Meanwhile, Katie Boulter, seeded ninth, will take on qualifier Priscilla Hon in the first round. Boulter and Hon have crossed paths three times on the WTA tour, with Hon emerging victorious in all three matches. Their most recent encounter was in the quarterfinals of the 2018 Surbiton Trophy, where Hon secured a 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 win.
