"Incredible... Only 13?"- Chris Evert in awe of young Carlos Alcaraz's tennis skills

Carlos Alcaraz is already a four-time Grand Slam winner at the age of 21, but the Spaniard was a promising talent from a very young age. Recently, his skills from when he was 13 left Chris Evert very impressed.

Alcaraz got the better of Novak Djokovic at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships final to win his second title at SW19 and his fourth major singles title, overall. During his junior career, he won just two titles but showed immense promise.

Recently, a video of Alcaraz from when he was 13 went viral on X (formerly Twitter). A tennis-related account posted the video of Alcarez playing some impressive shots. His movement and overall skill set at such a young age caught the eye of many, including former World No.1 and 18-time Grand Slam champion Chris Evert.

She reposted the video and wrote:

"This is incredible…..only 13? With those shots? Really? 🤷‍♀️👏👏👏💪💪💪"

Alcaraz's career-high ranking as a junior was 22. He had a record of 46-16 at the junior level with a win percentage of 74.

Moreover, he had an over 70% win rate on all surfaces, which is a testament to his prowess and talent. Alcaraz is the youngest man to win a Grand Slam on all surfaces. The seeds for a successful senior career were sown during his junior years.

Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek were the winners of the men's singles and women's singles titles at the French Open this year, respectively. It was Alcaraz's first title in Paris, while Swiatek notched up her fourth.

Chris Evert was impressed by both young competitors. She took to X to congratulate the pair while also predicting their Grand Slam tallies.

“Congrats to @iga_swiatek and @carlosalcaraz. They’ve brought a new and higher level to the game. Forecasting double digits in Slams. They will be around for a long time!”

Carlos Alcaraz added to his tally soon after Evert's post as he won the Wimbledon title on July 14. As of now, the 21-year-old has won four Grand Slam titles.

Comparing his achievement to the 'Big 3' of the ATP, neither Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, nor Rafael Nadal had four Grand Slam titles at that age.

Record 24-time Grand Slam winner Djokovic, who was beaten by Alcaraz at the Wimbledon final for the second year running, did not win his fourth major until he was 24
