Jannik Sinner has been the best player in the tennis world in 2024, as he is confirmed to be the year-end World No. 1 on the ATP Tour for the first time in his career. The Italian's ranking points tally will rise to 11,920 after earning 910 points in Shanghai, 4,800 points better than World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz.
Sinner was ensured year-end No. 1 ranking after Alcaraz's quarterfinal exit at the Shanghai Masters. Even if the Spaniard or World No. 3 Alexander Zverev win the the last two big tournaments on the ATP schedule, the Paris Masters, worth 1000 points, and the ATP Finals, worth 1,500 points, they won't be able to surpass the Italian at the top of ATP Ranking.
Sinner's groundbreaking year has seen him win two Grand Slams, the Australian Open and the US Open, three Masters 1000 titles, in Miami, Cincinnati, and Shanghai, and two ATP 500 titles, in Halle and Rotterdam.
