As the 2024 Japan Open approaches the business end of the tournament, Day 5 will feature the last eight men standing battle it out for a spot in the semifinals. Defending champion Ben Shelton will headline the action, alongside the likes of Holger Rune and Jack Draper.
The opening couple of rounds saw surprising exits of several top seeds, with Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe, Felix Auger-Aliassime, and Casper Ruud all biting the dust in their opener. Hubert Hurkacz and Matteo Berrettini followed suit soon, falling short in the second round.
