"Jealousy is so unbecoming" - Martina Navratilova slams Megyn Kelly as a 'failure' for condemning Kamala Harris & Oprah Winfrey's star-studded event
Martina Navratilova has criticized journalist Megyn Kelly for condemning Oprah Winfrey's recent show featuring Kamala Harris, Vice President of the United States. A line of renowned American celebrities were also in attendance to endorse the Democratic candidate.
Political commentator Megyn Kelly has been vocal in opposing Kamala Harris lately. She also criticized Taylor Swift on her podcast, The Megyn Kelly Show, after the pop star asserted her support for Harris.
However, American host Oprah Winfrey found herself under Kelly's scrutiny this time. Winfrey recently hosted Kamala Harris at the "Unite for America" livestream event hosted in Michigan. There, the Democratic nominee also addressed questions from supporters. Moreover, several celebrities like Julia Roberts, Bryan Cranston, Jennifer Lopez, Meryl Streep, and Chris Rock were also in attendance.
Megyn Kelly later criticized the show on X, expressing skepticism about its ability to appeal to independent voters. The journalist argued that the lineup of wealthy Hollywood celebrities, endorsing Kamala Harris, was disconnected from the struggles of the working class.
"Amazed they think this Oprah thing is going to appeal to Indep’s. A bunch of super rich Hollywood celebs endorsing Harris - absolutely none of whom understands anything about the working class’s suffering. Emc’d by one of the richest women on earth whose act has grown very stale," she wrote.
Martina Navratilova later delivered a sharp rebuke to Megyn Kelly's comments, accusing her of jealousy and referring to her as "a very rich failure".
"What a sad person you have become. A very rich failure. Kind of an oxymoron… Maybe the white blond version of DEI? And now failing as a human being. Jealousy is so unbecoming," Navratilova said.
Navratilova has recently emerged as a vocal critic of Harris' electoral opponent, Donald Trump. The 67-year-old also championed Taylor Swift's endorsement of the Democratic presidential candidate.
Martina Navratilova took a subtle dig at Donald Trump recently
Amid the American presidential elections, Martina Navratilova took a subtle jibe at Donald Trump for avoiding additional debates with Kamala Harris.
Trump seemingly struggled during his first presidential debate against Harris, which took place on Tuesday, September 10. He faced challenges substantiating his claims, including a statement where he asserted that Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, eat dogs and cats.
Recently, legal commentator Tristan Snell shared on X that Trump plans to skip any future presidential debates with Harris, claiming that the Democratic candidate "wrecked" him in the ABC debate.
Navratilova shared a few chicken emojis to take a dig at Trump in response to Snell's post.
The results of the 2024 US elections will be announced on Tuesday, November 5.
