Jessica Pegula indulges in ice hockey at Madison Square Garden; supports New York Rangers ahead of tennis event with Emma Navarro, Ben Shelton

Jessica Pegula recently attended an NHL match between the New York Rangers and the New Jersey Devils at Madison Square Garden. The American is gearing up for the upcoming tennis event, "The Garden Cup," featuring players such as Ben Shelton and Emma Navarro.

Pegula is an avid sports enthusiast who is also fond of watching football and ice hockey. She hails from a billionaire family, with her parents, Terry and Kim Pegula, owning the NFL team, the Buffalo Bills, currently valued at over $3–4 billion. They also own the NHL team, the Buffalo Sabres, which is valued at approximately $700 million.

The World No. 7 is set to compete next at The Garden Cup, an exhibition match at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, December 4. The event also features prominent names such as Carlos Alcaraz and Pegula's compatriots Ben Shelton and Emma Navarro and marks its first installment since 2018.

With nearly a day before the event, Pegula visited the same venue to attend an NHL match between the Rangers and the Devils. Thanks to goals from Jesper Bratt, Dawson Mercer, Dougie Hamilton, and two from Jack Hughes, the Devils secured a commanding 5-1 victory over the Rangers.

Jessica Pegula expressed her excitement about playing in The Garden Cup in New York. The American also shared her enthusiasm for bringing tennis back to New York City.

"It's amazing I can't wait to be able to bring tennis back here again at such a special venue. I think it's really a special moment to be the part of the few players who have been able to play tennis here. So I am really excited to bring it back for the fans and come back to the New York City," she said.

Pegula will face Emma Navarro in a blockbuster All-American showdown on December 4. The 30-year-old's most recent appearance in New York was at the 2024 US Open, where she finished as the runner-up after losing to Aryna Sabalenka.

Before that, she had an impressive North American hard court swing, winning the Canadian Open and reaching the final at the Cincinnati Open.
