"Love doing life with you"- Martina Navratilova and wife Julia Lemigova adorably celebrate "16 years of adventures" with special outing in Paris
Martina Navratilova's wife Julia Lemigova has shared some behind-the-scenes moments from the recently-concluded 2024 French Open. Lemigova and Navratilova celebrated 16 years of their relationship at this year's Roland Garros, having hit it off at the claycourt Major back in 2008.
Navratilova has won two French Open women's singles titles (1982, 1984) and seven doubles titles (1975, 1982, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988). She was part of Tennis Channel's team of analysts and commentators at the tournament this year alongside Jim Courier and Lindsay Davenport. She was joined by wife Lemigova and Emma, one of Lemigova's two daughters from a previous relationship, in Paris.
After the conclusion of the 2024 French Open, Lemigova took to Instagram to share the highlights of her Paris trip. One of them featured the three of them enjoying a meal at a restaurant in the French capital. She captioned the post:
"Celebrated 16 years of adventures together. Love doing life with you @martinanavratilova"
Another post featured Lemigova posing at the Stade Roland Garros wearing a black top and matching zebra-print coat and pants.
Yet another post showed Lemigova and Navratilova's pet Dachshund, LouLou, adorably peeking out of a bag.
There were other posts as well, which featured the couple spending time in and around the commentary box.
Last but not least, Lemigova posted a picture of Navratilova on the court with her fiercest yesteryear rival and present-day close friend Chris Evert. Navratilova and Evert collectively presented the 2024 French Open women's singles trophy to reigning WTA World No. 1 Iga Swiatek.
"How about a breakfast?" - Julia Lemigova's question at 2008 French Open that sparked her romance with Martina Navratilova
Lemigova looked back on the beginning of her relationship with Navratilova in the season four premiere of Real Housewives of Miami. The former model revealed that the pair had met for the first time in 2000, but things took a romantic turn at the 2008 French Open.
“During the (2008) French Open, I bump into Martina, and I said, ‘How about a breakfast?’ We had a breakfast the next day, and then the next day, and then the third day. And then she moved in," Lemigova said.
For Navratilova, the 2024 Wimbledon Championships is up next, where she is set to be a part of the BBC's coverage team with John McEnroe and Billie Jean King.
