Maria Sharapova's fiance Alexander Gilkes hilariously expresses doubts over longevity of new record player around couple's 2-year-old son Theodore
Maria Sharapova’s fiance, Alexander Gilkes, shared pictures of a new record player. He jokingly added that he doubted how long it would last with his two-year-old son, Theodore, around. Sharapova and Gilkes welcomed Theodore into their family on July 1, 2022.
Sharapova and Gilkes went public with their relationship on October 13, 2018, sharing photos from Cotswolds Fields of Gold. In December 2020, the retired Russian tennis star announced the couple's engagement on Instagram. Later, the couple celebrated the birth of their son, whose birthday was mentioned in Roman numerals, on the same platform.
The British businessman and auctioneer recently shared glimpses in his Instagram stories of a new record player he purchased for the couple's home. He also shared that he bought the "Ella and Louis" album, by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.
Meanwhile, he also shared a glimpse of his son Theodore enjoying the new record player. Gilkes humorously captioned the photo, expressing doubts about the device's longevity, hinting at his son's playful nature. He wrote:
“Let’s see how long this record player remains in one piece 🤔”
Alexander Gilkes, the Briton renowned for being the co-founder of the venture studio Squared Circles, has a passion for theater and British traditions, as mentioned by Sharapova in an interview with The Guardian.
Just like Gilkes who is invested in business, Maria Sharapova entered the business world during her competitive career with the launch of her candy brand - Sugarpova. She continues to be in the limelight, recently joining Cofertility as an investor in August 2024.

Maria Sharapova, the five-time Grand Slam singles winner, shared her thoughts on wedding plans with Alexander Gilkes. Speaking to People magazine, she said,
“We were going to have a big wedding and then I got pregnant, and so we haven't actually scheduled a new wedding yet…Perhaps in the next couple of years.”
She added that the couple aren't in a hurry as they are currently busy with many other commitments.
“Yeah. We're not in a rush. We're just so excited about Theo, and Alexander also just launched his company recently. So in between work and parenting, there's just so much going on right now.”
Fans may thus need to wait for some more time to witness the former tennis star's wedding with her fiancé Gilkes.
