Maria Sharapova shares workout selfie as Russian hits the gym after New Year celebration with family
Maria Sharapova hit the gym and has shared a selfie from an intense workout session. Even though she has retired from the sport, she makes it a point to stay in shape and keep up her fitness.
The former World No. 1 visited Venice on an Italian vacation and shared glimpses on social media. She went sightseeing, visiting coffee shops, and museums with her fiance Alexander Gilkes.
The Russian star watched the sunset and welcomed 2025 with her family. Afterward, Sharapova said she intended to get in shape and shred the effects of eating Panettones during her vacation:
"Working off one Panettone at a time."
Sharapova is mostly engaged in her business interests currently. She collaborates with multiple brands such as Aman, Amanzoe, Moncler, etc. She also has brands such as Sugarpova which is a global candy brand. She is also known to invest in tech startups and appeared on the popular TV show Shark Tank in November 2024.
Maria Sharapova dominated tennis as the highest-paid female athlete for a decade
From 2005 to 2015, Maria Sharapova was the highest-paid female athlete for 11 consecutive years. In 2005 she earned $18.1 million, and her biggest earnings haul was in 2015, when she netted $29.7 million.
The Russian's off-court endorsements include Evian, Porsche, Nike, and her racket sponsor Head. Her lucrative sponsor deals augmented her on-court success for the better part of a decade and kept her on the top spot from the perspective of earnings.
On court, Sharapova had 36 titles to her name which included five Grand Slam titles. Her on-court earning was north of $38 million dollars which is the fourth-highest in the women's game at the moment. She broke through the circuit when she won the 2004 Wimbledon title, as a teenager. On the court, her brand of aggressive tennis drew massive crowds wherever she played.
Maria Sharapova had the most success on clay. With 11 clay-court titles, including two French Open titles, she had an overall 81 percent win ratio on the red dirt. She was almost equally proficient on hard courts, with 20 titles and a win percentage of 77.
