Martina Navratilova cheekily reacts to sarcastic dig about Donald Trump's golfing claim as President-elect receives praise for his 'authenticity'
Martina Navratilova has shared a tongue-in-cheek reaction to Donald Trump being lauded for his honesty. The 18-time Grand Slam champion endorsed a humorous jab about Trump's questionable claims regarding his golfing achievements.
Donald Trump's incoming White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt recently made an appearance on Fox News and suggested that the President-elect's "authenticity" set him apart from all other modern presidential candidates. She also asserted that Trump consistently told the truth and delivered on his promises.
"What President Trump has that no other candidate who has ever run for office in modern history has is authenticity. He tells the truth. And you might not like the truth all the time but he tells it. And when he says he's going to do something, he delivers on that promise," Leavitt said.
However, Leavitt's remarks were met with ridicule, as Ron Filipkowski, the editor-in-chief of the Meidas Touch Network, took a dig at Donald Trump's claim of winning the Senior Club Championship at his course in Bedminster, New Jersey, with a remarkable five-under-par score of 67.
The President-elect was previously mocked for his assertion, as it was eight strokes better than six-time major winner Phil Mickelson had recorded on the same course just days earlier.
"And he really shot a 67 at Doral in the final round to win his Club Championship," Filipkowski posted.
Martina Navratilova, who is known for her outspoken criticism of Donald Trump, cheekily expressed her amusement at Filipkowski's post.
"Roflmao," she commented.
Navratilova recently also denounced Trump's businesses as a "scam" after he introduced a controversial new tariff policy that contradicted his earlier promises of not raising taxes for the American public.

In light of the proposed tariffs on Canadian imports, Donald Trump hosted Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the Mar-a-Lago club. The meeting prompted a social media user to suggest that world leaders were "lining up to kiss the ring" before Trump had even assumed office.
However, Martina Navratilova asserted that the President-elect would just "ride the coattails" of the strong American economy after harshly criticizing it in the past.
"America never left, baby. The orange guy will ride this great economy's coat tails and brag about it after bad mouthing it for years," Martina Navratilova posted.
Navratilova recently also labeled Trump an "embarrassment to the whole world" over his controversial Thanksgiving message, in which he attacked the "Radical Left Lunatics."
