Martina Navratilova makes her feelings known about suggestion that Donald Trump's 2024 US election triumph was orchestrated by 'American oligarchy'
Martina Navratilova has shared her reaction to the suggestion that Donald Trump winning the 2024 US presidential election was the result of the work of the 'American oligarchy'. Navratilova, a fierce critic of the President-elect, was left disappointed after Trump won by a significant margin over Kamala Harris.
Former World No. 1 and 18-time singles Grand Slam champion Martina Navratilova has voiced her disapproval of Donald Trump and the Republicans, in general, time and again. The Czech-American herself had endorsed Kamala Harris and firmly backed the Democrat candidate to secure the presidency.
However, in the aftermath of Trump securing a second term as President, Navratilova voiced her concern over what lies next for the USA. Recently, a political commentator on X (formerly Twitter) suggested that the President-elect was backed by the oligarchs of the country because of his desperation and willingness to bow down to their demands.
"They chose Trump because he was desperate and would capitulate to their demands. They chose a running mate to replace him in case he became too unhinged to control. Consider how many disqualifying facts about Trump never saw the light of day...or didn't get the attention they deserved...or got drowned out by propaganda. They took a mentally spent buffoon and presented him as a hero to the masses," the commentator wrote.
Martina Navratilova soon took notice of the commentator's post. The former World No. 1 proceeded to share it with a one-word caption of her own.
"BINGO!!!" Navratilova wrote.
One of the issues regarding Donald Trump's second term as US President that has concerned Navratilova is his promise to deport all illegal immigrants from the country. She recently took a swipe at Tom Homan, the newly-appointed 'Border Czar', who was one of the masterminds of the "zero tolerance" policy that came into effect during Trump's first term.
"Evil" - Martina Navratilova on Donald Trump's new 'Border Czar' Tom Homan
Donald Trump appointed Tom Homan as the acting director of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) department during his first term as US President. Homan was one of the people behind the controversial "zero tolerance" policy, which separated migrant parents from their children to deter illegal immigration.
Recently, after Homan was announced as the new 'Border Czar' by Trump, Navratilova took to X and condemned him, writing:
"Homan is evil"
In the buildup to the 2024 US presidential election, Martina Navratilova turned critical of Elon Musk, the world's richest man, for backing Donald Trump.
