Martina Navratilova outraged as transgender woman set to avoid charges for indecent exposure in Germany
Martina Navratilova is furious upon learning about a German transgender woman who could avoid charges for indecent exposure because they identify as a woman. According to a report by Reduxx, a person from Troisdorf, Germany, has been charged after attacking multiple women. The person has not been named but it has been specified that they are a trans-identified male.
The charges against the person include two disturbing incidents. In 2021, this person followed a woman home and attacked her at her front door, holding a knife to her throat. The woman fought back and forced the attacker to flee.
In December 2022, the same person exposed themselves to two women on a train. The regional court in Bonn must now determine if this constitutes a sexual offense, as German law only penalizes men for such acts. Since the person identifies as a female, they may avoid the charge.
Reduxx posted the report on their official X account and Navratilova reposted it writing:
"FFS"
She also commented the following on Reduxx's original post:
"What happens when paperwork is wrong… there is no such thing as a female who was a male."
The American tennis icon has often shared views on political topics and expressed concerns about the inclusion of transgender athletes in women’s sports.
Martina Navratilova lashes out at the NCAA after incident involving reported transgender volleyball player
A reported transgender volleyball player, Blaire Fleming, playing for the San Jose State team, spiked the ball onto the face of her opposition during an NCAA women's game.
The incident was shared on X by former competitive swimmer Riley Gaines. She called out the NCAA and the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris administration.
Former World No. 1 Martina Navratilova commented on the post and claimed it was all on the NCAA. She said that US President Joe Biden has not helped the issue but did not create it either.
"This is all on NCAA- Biden has not helped on this issue nor did he do this- this is NCAA and no one else. And it stinks. How many women need to get hurt by male power before you change the rules based on sex @NCAA ???" Navratilova tweeted.
Navratilova has expressed concerns about the inclusion of transgender athletes in women’s sports but has clarified that she is not against transgender athletes. The 67-year-old emphasizes that her priority is ensuring women can compete on a level playing field.
