Martina Navratilova questions Donald Trump after he rules out $460 billion-worth tech mogul Elon Musk becoming US President
Martina Navratilova questioned President-elect Donald Trump's recent statement about being "safe" from Elon Musk. The tech mogul has been playing a significant role in Trump's transition to the White House, prompting criticism. Trump addressed these concerns by highlighting that Musk does not pose any threat as he cannot become President.
Elon Musk’s active role in supporting Trump’s presidential campaign and influencing key political decisions has sparked widespread debate. Critics have raised concerns about the $460 billion-worth (as per Celebrity Net Worth) tech mogul's growing influence in U.S. politics.
Addressing these criticisms during a speech in Arizona, Trump dismissed the notion of Musk overshadowing him, emphasizing that the Tesla CEO cannot become president due to his foreign birth.
"He's [Elon] not going to be president, that I can tell you. I’m safe. You know why? He can’t be, he wasn’t born in this country," Trump said.
American tennis legend Martina Navratilova, a frequent critic of Trump and his policies, commented on a video of his remarks on X.
"So would trump act differently if Musk had been born in US??? I mean…" she wrote.
Outgoing US President Joe Biden recently signed a funding bill to avert a government shutdown, but an earlier bipartisan version was derailed by Trump and Musk. The 78-year-old opposed the bill for failing to address the debt ceiling with Musk joining in the criticism, using his social media platform X to condemn the deal.
Martina Navratilova slams Elon Musk after he was called 'voice of the people' by American politician
The U.S. representative for Texas's 23rd congressional district, Tony Gonzales appeared on CBS' Face the Nation and talked about Elon Musk's influence in US politics. Gonzales believes South Africa-born Musk is the "voice of the people" in the USA.
"It feels like Elon Musk is our Prime Minister ... a large part of that voice is a reflection of the voice of the people," Gonzales said.
A video of him making this statement was shared on X and Martina Navratilova strongly disagreed. She wrote:
"What a load of crap- Musk is the voice of the people????"
Further, she also labeled the statement "delusional."
"Sure- the richest man in the world is the voice of the people… how delusional."
Musk played a significant role in helping Trump and the Republican Party secure victory in the 2024 presidential election, defeating Democrat Kamala Harris and other contenders. With Musk's support, Trump will return to the White House in January 2025, alongside Vice President-elect JD Vance.
