Martina Navratilova reacts with shocked four-word message to reports of 'Israel burning children alive' in Gaza

Martina Navratilova has expressed her shock over the reported brutality towards children in the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict. Navratilova's shock came as a reaction to the words of Palestinian-American performance poet Remi Kanazi.

The current Israel-Palestine conflict, which started over a year ago, is showing no sign of slowing down. Devastating airstrikes have become almost daily occurrences, and things have gone from bad to worse with the added participation of Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah.

Recently, Remi Kanazi, a Palestinian-American performance poet, took to X (formerly Twitter) to denounce Israel over its reported atrocities aimed toward Palestinian children.

"Israel is burning alive children in Gaza. I’m not sharing the video. But Israel is burning children alive in Gaza. There are no words. Israel is a nation of genocide. Its existence is a threat to every Palestinian and millions in the region," Kanazi wrote.

Martina Navratilova, a former World No. 1 who is widely regarded as one of the greatest tennis players of all time, reacted to Kanazi's post.

"What the actual hell???" Navratilova wrote.

Later, Dave Aronberg, a former member of the Florida State Senate, refuted Kanazi's claims. Navratilova, surprised by Aronberg's rebuttal, asked if the performance poet's claims were indeed false.

"A fake story?" Navratilova asked.

Navratilova has kept a close eye on the gruesome developments of the Israel-Palestine conflict. Earlier this year, the 67-year-old made a bold claim after the United Nations' human rights chief voiced his concern over Israel's military actions.

In February this year, the human rights chief of the United Nations, Volker Turk, laid bare the mass brutality that has resulted in the losses and displacement of countless lives in the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict. Shocked at the death toll in the Gaza Strip, Martina Navratilova slammed Israel's military actions and called it a "genocide".

"Unacceptable- this is genocide," Navratilova wrote on X.

A few months later, Martina Navratilova echoed prominent British television personality Piers Morgan's sentiments on Israel deliberately targeting refugee camps in Gaza. Morgan himself had initially voiced his support for Israel in the immediate aftermath of attacks carried out by the Palestinian militant group Hamas, which kickstarted the ongoing conflict last year.

However, after taking notice of Israel's retaliatory attacks on refugees in Rafah, Morgan was infuriated and questioned the reasoning behind them. The iconic television personality went as far as to urge Israel's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, to stop the attacks. Navratilova completely agreed with the Brit.
