Matteo Berrettini makes his feelings known about Tommy Paul's girlfriend Paige Lorenze 'approving' his shirtless pictures

Tommy Paul’s recent shirtless pictures from his training session have caught Matteo Berrettini’s eye. The American said his girlfriend, Paige Lorenze, "approved" of the images, which drew an amusing reaction from Berrettini.

Paul enjoyed a successful 2024 campaign. He clinched the ATP 250 titles in Dallas and Stockholm and won his maiden ATP 500 event—the Queen’s Club Championships. The three titles hold immense significance, considering he faced a prolonged title drought after winning his first career trophy in Stockholm in 2021. Besides making headway on the ATP Tour, Tommy Paul also clinched his maiden Olympic medal—a bronze—partnering Taylor Fritz.

The American would hope to carry the momentum forward for an even better 2025 campaign. He has already commenced the preparations in Florida, where he resides. Paul recently shared glimpses of his training session with fans on social media. He joked that the shirtless images were shared only after he sought his girlfriend, Paige Lorenze’s approval. Lorenze and Paul have been together since 2022.

"@paigelorenze approved," he wrote in the caption.

Matteo Berrettini was quick to respond, teasing that it wasn’t just Lorenze who “approved” of the stills.

Just like Paul, it rained titles for Berrettini in 2024. The Italian, who suffered multiple injury-related setbacks in 2023, made a phenomenal comeback, clinching three titles in Marrakesh, Gstaad, and Kitzbühel. Starting the season ranked outside the world’s top 100, Berrettini made a sharp ascent and presently holds the 34th spot in the rankings.

He concluded his campaign by carrying Italy to a second consecutive Davis Cup victory alongside World No. 1 Jannik Sinner. On December 12, the ATP rewarded the former World No. 6’s effort with the 2024 Comeback Player of the Year title.

Matteo Berrettini is set to begin his 2025 journey at the ATP 250 Brisbane International (December 29-January 5). Meanwhile, Tommy Paul will kick off his run at the Adelaide International (January 6-11).
