Matteo Berrettini meets NBA supertarstar Luka Doncic in Miami
Italian tennis player Matteo Berrettini recently met with NBA superstar Luka Doncic during his stint in Miami for the second leg of the Sunshine Double.
Four-time NBA All-Star Luka Doncic, who represents the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA, was in attendance at the Miami Open and was spotted during Carlos Alcaraz's matches at the tournament.
Berrettini took to social media to share a picture of himself and Doncic together, posing with a Dallas Mavericks jersey the Slovenian presented to him. Donic, meanwhile, held a tennis racquet, supposedly gifted to him by the Italian.
"Basketball x Tennis, great to meet you @lukadoncic," Matteo Berrettini wrote on Instagram.
The picture of Berrettini and Doncic quickly garnered a lot of attention from fans of both sports. Fans flooded the comment section of Berrettini's post, expressing their excitement over the meeting between the two stars.
Matteo Berrettini is currently ranked World No. 22 and suffered a rather poor outing at the Sunshine Double. Seeded at both Indian Wells and the Miami Open, the Italian lost in the second-round in both events, falling to Taro Daniel in the former and Mackenzie McDonald in the latter.
Meanwhile, Doncic is in the midst of the 2022-23 NBA season and is focused on leading the Mavericks to the playoffs.
