"Might be an even bigger misogynist than Donald Trump" - Martina Navratilova slams Republican VP nominee JD Vance for past comments about women

Martina Navratilova claimed JD Vance was a 'bigger misogynist' than Donald Trump after the Republican vice presidential nominee's past clip of criticizing women who prioritize their professional careers surfaced. The controversial comments are from a podcast interview.

In a September 2021 episode of the American Moment podcast, Trump’s running mate, J.D. Vance, argued that women who prioritize their professional careers over having children are choosing 'a path to misery'. He made these remarks while discussing his belief that institutions such as his alma mater, Yale Law School, are corrupt.

“You have women who think that truly the liberationist path is to spend 90 hours a week working in a cubicle at McKinsey instead of starting a family and having children,” Vance said (via The Guardian).
“What they don’t realize – and I think some of them do eventually realize that, thank God – is that that is actually a path to misery. And the path to happiness and to fulfillment is something that these institutions are telling people not to do," he added.

The Guardian's report about Vance's comments was posted on X. Navratilova, who regularly makes political commentary on the platform, was furious. She reposted the update and wrote:

"JD Vance just might be an even bigger misogynist than trump. And that’s not easy…"

Navratilova's condemnation of Vance's comments comes just a day after she called him a 'douche' for his explanation of Trump's social media activity.

In a recent interview with CNN's John Berman, Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance was asked about Donald Trump's post on the social media platform Truth Social which had lewd connotations about Vice President Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton.

Vance defended the presidential nominee stating that the 78-year-old has a different personality on social media. He described Trump as:

"A political candidate who isn't stodgy, who likes to have some fun, who likes to tell some jokes."

Martina Navratilova reposted a clip of Vance's interview with Berman on X and wrote:

"Sure- mocking women lifts everyone’s spirits, even the women who are being mocked. I mean that’s just so funny and uplifting… what a douche. He is beyond help and as despicable as they get."

The US Presidential elections are scheduled to take place on November 5, 2024, between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. The American tennis icon believes Harris will do 'better' for the country than Trump.
