"Most obnoxious tweet of the day" - Martina Navratilova slams social media user for comparing Donald Trump to Nelson Mandela
Martina Navratilova has publicly denounced a social media user who compared Donald Trump to Nelson Mandela. The misguided comparison was made in light of recent news that the former American president could face arrest.
On Saturday, March 18, Trump made a statement regarding his potential arrest on Tuesday in connection with a criminal case involving hush money payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels. However, there has been no official confirmation of charges being brought against him.
Trump's statements have left his supporters in a state of distress. One of them took to Twitter to express their solidarity with the former president, drawing a comparison between him and the revered former South African leader, Nelson Mandela.
The tweet did not sit well with Martina Navratilova, who swiftly denounced the user's comments as "obnoxious." She also pointed out the stark differences between the two men, making it clear that such a comparison was inappropriate.
"Ladies and gents- I give you the Most obnoxious tweet of the day. The two men couldn’t be more polar opposites… enough said," Navratilova tweeted.
