"My rock, my everything" - Frances Tiafoe pens heartfelt wish for girlfriend Ayan Broomfield's 27th birthday with cherished memories of them together
Frances Tiafoe penned a heartfelt wish for girlfriend Ayan Broomfield on her 27th birthday. Broomfield, a Canadian tennis player, turned 27 on Tuesday, August 14.
Tiafoe and Broomfield made their relationship public in 2018 and since then, have been virtually inseparable. Over the years, the Canadian has become a fixture in the American's box irrespective of where he is playing. Broomfield was also present at the 2022 US Open, where Tiafoe reached the semifinals, his greatest achievement so far at a Grand Slam.
To usher in Broomfield's 27th birthday, the former World No. 10 took to Instagram and wrote:
"Happy bday to my right hand….my rock…..my everything. Happy 27th bday my love hope you enjoy the day. See you next week love you always. I’m thankful for you and always proud of you. P.S. Happy I finally got a dub on ur bday"
Tiafoe's post also featured a mix of photos and videos, some featuring Broomfield in her childhood. These photos prompted a response from Broomfield, who commented:
"Frances be so for real not the baby photos, thank youu pumpkin and we love a good bday dubbbb"
Tiafoe later replied to Broomfield with several laughing-out-loud and heart emojis.
Ayan Broomfield showed her resounding support for Frances Tiafoe during his French Open 2024 campaign
Tiafoe reached a career-high ranking of World No. 10 in June 2023. However, since then, his form has drastically dipped, which has subsequently resulted in his ATP Tour ranking plummeting. Right now, the American is ranked World No. 27.
Despite Tiafoe's struggles with form and inconsistency, Broomfield has been there with him through thick and thin. This was in evidence during Tiafoe's 2024 French Open campaign. The American needed five sets to get the better of Italian qualifier Mattia Bellucci in the first round of the claycourt Major, writing later on Instagram:
"Nothing good comes easy..... round 1 (green tick emoji). See y'all again tomorrow (three fist emojis). #godspeed #humble&hungry #darkhorse"
However, a fan turned critical of Tiafoe in the comments, writing:
"Man you not him right now bro you need to get some wins"
Broomfield, incensed by the negative nature of the fan's comment, fired back, saying:
"He’s been him. always him. take your negativity elsewhere," Broomfield replied to the fan.
More recently, Broomfield questioned chair umpire Mohamed Lahyani's controversial decision during Tiafoe's first-round loss to Alejandro Tabilo at the National Bank Open in Montreal.
Currently, the former World No. 10 is preparing for his second-round clash against Lorenzo Musetti, at the ongoing Cincinnati Open, scheduled to be played on Wednesday, August 14. Tiafoe registered a straight-sets win over Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the first round at the prestigious ATP Masters 1000 event.
