Naomi Osaka opens up about receiving heartwarming compliment from driver during recent car ride
Naomi Osaka this week revealed a compliment she received from her driver during a car ride. The Japanese player has wrapped up her season after withdrawing from the Billie Jean King Cup due to injury.
Osaka's last match of the season was the China Open, where she reached the fourth round after besting Lucia Bronzetti, Yulia Putintseva, and Katie Volynets. In the fourth round, she withdrew from her match with Coco Gauff with the score 3-6, 6-4. Following this, Osaka withdrew from multiple tournaments such as the Hong Kong Open, the Pan Pacific Open 2024, and the Billie Jean King Cup.
Days after concluding her season, Osaka wrote about an incident on Threads, sharing a heartwarming compliment she received from her driver about her voice. Osaka wrote,
"Awww I'm in the car right now and the driver just told me I have the most delicate voice he's heard in a long time."
Naomi Osaka had to bring her season to an early end because of the lower back injury she sustained during the China Open in the fourth round against Gauff on October 1. The player is currently enjoying her off-season.

Naomi Osaka retired in the third set of round four of the China Open in her game against Coco Gauff due to injury, and since then has not stepped on to the court. The 27-year-old announced her withdrawal from the Pacific Open and BJK Cup and also expressed her disappointment about the same. Calling her withdrawal the the "toughest decision," Osaka said to the press,
"I've played so many tournaments this year, so it was definitely the toughest decision to not play this and obviously not play BJK. I really honestly enjoyed it so much, and I think it helped with my development as a player."
Along with this, she also spoke about her injury, revealing that she ruptured her abdominal muscles.
"I thought I strained my back, but I did an MRI in Beijing, and they said that I bulged a disc in my back and I also ruptured abdominal muscles. I was practicing in Los Angeles in order to play here, but then I took another MRI, and it said that I still have tears."
Off the tennis court, Naomi Osaka was recently seen trying her hand at pickleball.
