"Needs to STFU" - Martina Navratilova reacts to Elon Musk's bizarre Joe Biden-Kamala Harris remark regarding Donald Trump assassination attempt
Martina Navratilova has recently criticized Elon Musk for his comments regarding Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. The tennis legend has been an outspoken critic of the tech billionaire and frequently speaks out against him on social media.
Navratilova had a phenomenal career in her time as a player, and since retiring, has become a staunch advocate for the causes she believes in. Ahead of the upcoming American presidential elections, the 67-year-old has made her support for the Democratic party public, and often shares her political opinions with fans.
Recently, after Donald Trump’s assaination attempt, Musk responded to a post on X questioning why somebody wanted the former president dead, by writing,
“And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala.”
To this, another X user responded by writing,
“Who else here feels that Elon Musk should be stripped of his security clearance, and U.S. citizenship and then deported back to his home nation of South Africa?”
At this point, Martina Navratilova chimed into the conversation to share her opinion on the matter, posting,
“Elon needs to STFU. You can’t really strip or at least shouldn’t strip someone of their citizenship but Elon is off the charts asswipe.”
Martina Navratilova slams Elon Musk for comments on electoral system
This isn't the first time that Martina Navratilova has criticized Elon Musk over a political matter. Earlier this year in January, the X owner remarked that in the US voters didn't need ID to cast their vote, stating:
“In the USA, you don’t need government issued ID to vote and you can mail in your ballot. This is insane.”
Navratilova replied by asking Musk to educate himself.
“Not how it works. Would be good to educate yourself a bit before making these sweeping statements," the former World No. 1 said.
Aside from these remarks, Martina Navratilova has also repeatedly criticized Elon Musk for his management of the X app.
“My mentions have been so effed up the last few weeks it’s ridiculous. Elon has messed up Twitter like I never thought possible. Mentions just keep disappearing many times during any given day. Thanks for nothing @elonmusk,” she wrote in July.
“All my direct mentions just disappeared again right in front of my eyes. This never happened until Musk took over. It happens all the time now at irregular intervals. No clue why. And clearly Elon doesn’t care to fix it, right @elonmusk?” she remarked in another recent post.
As a player, Martina Navratilova enjoyed immense success on the tennis courts. Over the course of her career, she won 10 mixed doubles Grand Slam titles, 18 Major singles titles and 31 women's doubles titles, among other trophies.
