"Never shared about my private life" - Jannik Sinner's ex-girlfriend Maria Braccini breaks social media hiatus to thank fans
Jannik Sinner’s ex-girlfriend, model Maria Braccini, has ended her social media hiatus to thank her fans. Braccini touched on her private the past few years while looking ahead to a new chapter in her life.
Jannik Sinner and Maria Braccini rarely advertised their relationship, but the World No. 1 occasionally showed his fondness for her by wishing her a happy birthday or commenting on her posts on social media.
In May, during the 2024 French Open, Sinner confirmed he was in a relationship with Russian tennis player Anna Kalinskaya, without sharing details of his breakup with Braccini. Maria Braccini has now broken her social media silence, posting for the first time since her trip to Miami.
"I never talked about myself on social media, I never shared anything about my private life or what I did," she wrote in her recent post.
The 23-year-old also admitted to facing rejection while patiently pursuing “one of her biggest dreams,” which has ultimately borne fruit.
"In recent years I have worked hard to realize one of my biggest dreams," she added. "I was patient, I studied, I was rejected but I never stopped believing and working to improve myself, silently so as not to have easier roads."
"I made a journey to sign a piece of paper that was really important to me and which marks the beginning of a new and long journey," Maria Braccini further said.
"I have had teary eyes" – Jannik Sinner's ex-girlfriend Maria Braccini on the support she has received in recent weeks
Acknowledging support from her fans during her break from social media, Braccini said:
"Thank you to each of you for all the affection you have always shown me, especially in this last period, I am immensely grateful. Often, reading you, I have had teary eyes, aware of the affection and support you have given me. Thank you, thank you, thank you with all my heart."
Looking forward to a new beginning, the Italian model said that her latest social media post was a collection of "happy moments" from the past month.
"The photos in the carousel are happy and special moments of this last month. And then… How do you say it? For every door that closes there is always another that opens. See you soon," Jannik Sinner’s ex-girlfriend concluded.
On the tennis front, Sinner is presently competing at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships, where he is the top seed and one of the favorites to win the title. He has advanced to the fourth round, where he faces either Ben Shelton or Denis Shapovalov.
