Next time I just ask you: Holger Rune promises to take a picture with Mexican Open paramedic in heartwarming gesture

Holger Rune made a heartwarming gesture to a paramedic as he promised to take a picture with him the next time he was competing in Acapulco.

Rune is currently in Miami, preparing ahead of the Miami Masters, and shared an image of himself practicing on a court at the Hardrock Stadium, the tournament's location.

One Twitter user commented on his picture by stating that he was a paramedic who was working during the Mexican Open. He also claimed that his job prevented him from asking players for a picture.

"Rune, I'm a medical service from ATP Acapulo and I saw you in the medical area when you went for a water, imagine that because of my job I'm not allowed to ask for a photo of you," the paramedic's tweet read.

Holger Rune had a very heartwarming response to the paramedic's tweet, claiming that he would take a picture with him the next time he was in Acapulco and that he would be the one asking.

"We get a picture next time. Then I just ask you and not the opposite," Rune tweeted.

Rune's gesture comes just days after he received a lot of criticism for his post-match interaction with Stan Wawrinka after losing 6-2, 6-7(5), 7-5 to the Swiss in the third round of the Indian Wells Masters.

The Dane hit back at his critics by posting a strong message on his Instagram stories where he called them "unintelligent."

β€œBefore you write hate or shitty comments on my or any account, you should be aware of how the majority read your comment and see you as unintelligent," Rune wrote.
"Harsh judgements are handed out so people feel better about themselves but everyone (if of average or above average intelligence) can see that they are hurting and have been brought down by something that has them feeling defensive (jealousy) – so they become critical of others hoping to restore their self esteem. Needless to say - with no luck," he added.
