Nick Kyrgios praises Stefanos Tsitsipas' football skills as Greek hits some free kicks during his Lega Serie A Genoa vs Roma appearance

Nick Kyrgios recently praised Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas' football skills. Tsitsipas made an appearance at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris for the Lega Serie A Genoa vs Roma clash on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

Tsitsipas graced the stadium with his presence after a devasting exit from the US Open. The two-time Grand Slam finalist fell short of advancing past the first round in Queens after a grueling 3 hours 45 minutes match against Thanasi Kokkinakis, with a final score of 7-6(5), 4-6, 6-3, 7-5.

The Greek tennis player, who played football until the age of 12, was seen cheering for his hometown team while donning Genoa's home jersey. Although the 26-year-old was present at the stadium to support his home team, he confidently flaunted his football skills in the packed stadium.

He delivered a few accurate penalty kicks while gesturing fans in the stadium to cheer for him. One of the penalty kicks also hit the top right corner of the goal. Impressed by the Greek star's football skills, Kyrgios took to social media to sing his praises.

He shared a video of Tsitsipas' penalty kicks and wrote:

"Pretty good."

As a child, Tsitsipas played video games with his brother and was drawn to Genoa's striking logo. His early admiration for the team turned him into a dedicated fan.

Sunday's football clash at the Luigi Ferraris stadium, in Genoa, resulted in a draw of 1-1 after a last-minute equalizer from the home team.
