"No one's gonna eat you" - Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian pokes fun at Donald Trump's claims over immigrants eating dogs

Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian has come up with a hilarious reaction to former US President Donald Trump's claims that immigrants in Ohio are eating dogs and cats. Ohanian jokingly reassured his own pet dogs regarding their safety and well-being in light of Republican presidential candidate Trump's unsubstantiated claims.

Trump locked horns with Kamala Harris, who was fielded as the presidential candidate by the Democrats, for a debate on the evening of Tuesday, September 10. At one point, the 78-year-old cited the example of Springfield, Ohio, to prove how cities across the US have suffered due to the Democrats being open to immigration.

However, bizarrely, Trump went on to say that Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, are eating dogs and cats, including pets of the city's inhabitants. Harris couldn't keep herself from laughing upon hearing her political rival's wild claims.

"There’s been talk that they’re eating the dogs. They’re eating the cats. They're eating the pets of the people that live there," Trump said.

Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit and Serena Williams' husband, later took to X (formerly Twitter) and hilariously reassured his and Williams' pet dogs Maximus, Adora, and Chip about their well-being.

"Gonna hug my dogs extra tonight. No one's gonna eat you guys," Ohanian wrote.

The 41-year-old went on to post a picture of his and Williams' rescue dog Adora, who he referred to by the nickname 'Dory'. The picture featured Adora vigilantly looking out a glass window as if to suggest that the pet is worried about the dog-eating immigrants Trump mentioned while making the unsubstantiated claims. Ohanian captioned the post:

"She won't leave the window. Dory is just waiting. Watching. Staying vigilant," he added.

Despite Serena Williams' husband's political differences with Donald Trump, he raised his voice against the assassination attempt on the former President earlier this year.

At a Republican rally organized in the vicinity of Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13 this year, former President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt but was hit in his right ear by a 20-year-old gunman. The heinous act of violence resulted in the death of an innocent spectator who was attending the rally. Two others were critically injured, and the gunman was later killed by the Counter Sniper Team of the US Secret Service.

In the aftermath of the violent incident, Ohanian expressed his relief that the attempt was ultimately unsuccessful. The Reddit co-founder also denounced all forms of violence stemming from political motives.

"Still can't believe what I saw. Thankfully, we didn't have another US President/Presidential-Candidate assassination, but this was too close. I'm so sorry for the victims + their families — there's no justification for political violence," Ohanian wrote on his X handle.

In his personal life, Ohanian is happily married to former WTA World No. 1 and 23-time singles Major winner Serena Williams and has fathered two daughters, Olympia and Adira River, with the tennis legend.
