"No way you did that" - Katie Boulter & boyfriend Alex de Minaur gush over each other's successes as couple lift titles together on same day
Katie Boulter and his boyfriend Alex de Minaur recently lifted titles in the same week again. Previously, they had lifted titles together in March, when Boulter won her maiden WTA 500 title at the San Diego Open and de Minaur won the Mexican Open.
Boulter recently won the Nottingham Open, defeating Harriet Dart, Rebecca Marino, and Magdalena Frech on her way to the semifinals, where she faced her compatriot, Emma Raducanu.
Boulter won a tight contest between the Britons in a comeback victory. Raducanu won the first set 7-6(13) before Boulter responded with a 6-3, 6-4 to secure her place in the finals. In the final, the World No. 31 defeated Karolina Pliskova 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 to lift her third career title.
De Minaur also won the Libema Open on the same day. The Australian defeated Zizou Bergs, and Milos Raonic en route to the semifinal, where he downed No. 3 seed Ugo Humbert. In the final, he defeated Sebastian Korda 6-2, 6-4 for his ninth career title. With this, he has now reached his career-best ranking of World No. 7.
Boulter and de Minaur won a title together for the second time this season and were left surprised at the sweet coincidence. The Aussie took to Instagram to express his surprise as he shared a post and wrote:
"No way you just did that."
The Brit, on the other hand, said that she takes inspiration from her partner every day and wrote:
"Inspiration everyday. NCH(New Career High) #7."
Katie Boulter on Alex de Minaur: "We have got some talking to do"
Katie Boulter said during the on-court interview at the 2024 Nottingham Open that she was ecstatic to defend her title in Nottingham. She said it was a deja vu and was not sure if this was a dream, adding that Nottingham had a special place in her heart.
“This is a little bit of deja vu, I’m not entirely sure if I am dreaming or this has happened. It is incredible to be here, it’s got a special place in my heart, it always will do," Katie Boulter said.
The Brit then jokingly threatened her boyfriend de Minaur for not making a trip to see her play in the final.
“My boyfriend didn’t make the trip even though I thought he might after his win in Hertogenbosch so we will have to be talking about that tonight and see if we are still together! I hope he is listening to this, we have got some talking to do!” she joked.
