"Nothing can make me hate you, not even your horrible haircut": Fans react as Holger Rune calls out his erasure from most wins list ft. Carlos Alcaraz
Holger Rune recently shared his reaction to a list of the players born in the 2000s with the most career wins, questioning his exclusion from the ranks of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. The Dane's cheeky reminder about his own victories caught the attention of tennis fans.
Currently competing at the 2024 China Open, Alcaraz recorded his 200th career win by claiming a dominant 6-1, 6-2 win over Tallon Griekspoor in the second round of the ATP 500 event.
In honor of the milestone victory, Tennis TV shared a graphic showcasing the most wins by players born in the 2000s, with the World No. 3 trailing Sinner (247) and Felix Auger-Aliassime (213) while coming out ahead of Lorenzo Musetti (130).
Holger Rune was conspicuously absent from the list, despite the Dane having the same number of wins as Musetti at a higher win rate of 61% compared to the Italian's 55%.
The 21-year-old, who is through to the semifinals of the Japan Open, called out the oversight, pointing out that he should have been included in the list.
"Not counting but felt I was on that list as well @TennisTV," Rune commented.
Fans were delighted by Rune's response to his erasure, with one of them joking that not even the Dane's "horrible" haircut could deter their support for him.
"Nothing can make me hate you, not even your horrible haircut," one fan joked.
"IM CRYING oh how i missed holger rune replies," another fan chimed in.
"You tell them king 🫡," a fan remarked.
Fans also rallied behind Holger Rune, pointing out that he had a higher win percentage than Lorenzo Musetti, who was included in the graphic.
"With a better win percentage too," one fan contended.
"WHACK THEM AGAIN FOR ME!!!! putting those hags ahead of our 2003 king," another fan quipped.
"Holger is right (higher win % than Lorenzo too)," said another.
Others, meanwhile, poked fun at the 21-year-old for scrolling on social media despite it being past midnight in Tokyo.
"It's past midnight in Tokyo get that rest!" one fan remarked.
"Him and tsitsi are always on twitter man ðŸ˜," another fan chimed in.
"Boy go to sleep (I love brat reborn)," said yet another.
