Novak Djokovic reveals where he keeps his trophies - "Most are with my parents, and a few are in my son's room"
Novak Djokovic has laid bare where his trophies are. The Serb has won a staggering 98 singles titles, which include 24 Majors, 40 ATP Masters 1000 crowns, and seven ATP Finals titles, which are all record title hauls that Djokovic has racked up over the course of his illustrious career.
Right now, the Serb is in contention for his eighth Wimbledon title, and is awaiting a semifinal clash against 25th seed Lorenzo Musetti at the prestigious grasscourt Major on Friday, July 12.
If he wins against the Italian and progresses to the final, he will face either Daniil Medvedev or Carlos Alcaraz and if he does go on to lift The Gentlemen's Singles Trophy yet again, he will equal the now-retired Roger Federer's proud record.
Djokovic came into this year's Championships on the back of a knee surgery that he chose to undergo almost immediately after scans revealed that he had sustained a meniscus tear in his right knee during his 2024 French Open campaign. The Serb has played all his matches at Wimbledon 2024 so far wearing a knee brace, but in the eyes of Alcaraz's coach, Djokovic's movement seems fine.
On Thursday, July 11, amid the Serb's ongoing Wimbledon campaign, Vogue Adria published a candid interview with Djokovic titled 'The Greatest of All Time - Novak Djokovic'. In one of the sections of the interview, the World No. 2 was asked where his 98 trophies are.
The Serb revealed that the vast majority of those are with his parents, father Srdjan and mother Dijana. He also said that some of them are in his son Stefan's room.
"Most are with my parents, and a few are in my son’s room," Djokovic told Vogue Adria.
Novak Djokovic rated the Australian Open as his "favorite" tournament earlier this year
Djokovic has won the Australian Open on a record ten occasions in the Open Era. Across both men's and women's tennis, only Margaret Court has more Australian Open singles titles than the Serb. The prestigious hardcourt Major marked the first of Djokovic's 24 Grand Slam titles back in 2008, with his last title triumph in Melbourne coming in 2023.
Ahead of this year's edition of the Australian Open, Djokovic told reporters at a pre-tournament press conference that it is his favorite tournament owing to his record-breaking achievements at the event.
"My favourite place, no doubt. The court where I've done great things and achieved my greatest Grand Slam results," Djokovic said.
However, the Serb bowed out of the tournament this year after losing to eventual champion Jannik Sinner in the semifinals. Djokovic is yet to win a title this season.
