Novak Djokovic's wife Jelena gushes over "iconic" Serb following his unique Great Wall of China Lacoste campaign

Novak Djokovic's wife Jelena Djokovic has expressed her admiration for the Serb's latest advertisement campaign with Lacoste. Lacoste shot its new campaign with the 24-time Grand Slam champion at the Ju Yong Guan Pass, a mountain pass in Beijing.

Djokovic was last seen competing in the US Open, where he reached the third round. He beat Radu Albot and Laslo Djere en route to the third round, where he couldn't get past Alexei Popyrin. The Australian defeated him in four sets 6-4, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.

The 37-year-old Serb recently posed for a campaign with his long-time clothing sponsor Lacoste along the Great Wall of China. His wife Jelena Djokovic shared her excitement in the comments on a post shared on Lacoste's official Instagram account. She wrote,

The campaign also featured one of the most popular actors in China, Wang Yibo. Wang shared his experience with Djokovic via social media, saying he looked forward to playing with the Serb again.

“I’m truly honored and delighted to have played tennis with an Olympic Champion at the iconic Great Wall! Big thanks to @lacoste , and thank you Nole @djokernole ! I'm already looking forward to our next match, will keep training hard and play big @catherinespindlerpro”

The Serb acknowledged the message in the comments. He said,

“Pleasure to play with you on Great Wall of China. Looking forward to hosting you on one of my matches soon”

Novak Djokovic stands 2075 points behind the qualification mark for the ATP Finals. He is one place behind Alex De Minaur who currently holds the last spot in the race to Turin.

The former World No. 1 has had an ordinary season this year by his high standards. Apart from a gold medal in the Summer Olympics, he failed to make an impact in any of the Majors and hasn't captured any trophy this year.

The Serb said he was looking to prepare himself for the Majors rather than all the events on the Tour calendar. He added he was looking forward to representing his country at the Davis Cup.

Speaking during the recently held Davis Cup Finals, he said,

"I am not chasing a place on the ATP list, nor the Final Masters. Those are not my goals, honestly. As for me, I finished my career in other tournaments. I don't know if I will play them in the future or this year
"My priorities are playing for the national team and grand slams, everything else is less important. Now I need a physical, mental, and emotional rest in order to decide what and how to proceed, how much and where."
