Novak Djokovic vs Jannik Sinner: Where to watch, TV schedule, live streaming details and more | Shanghai Masters 2024, Final
24-time Major champion Novak Djokovic will duke it out against World No. 1 Jannik Sinner for the Shanghai Masters 2024 title on Sunday, October 13. The Serb beat Taylor Fritz 6-4, 7-6 (6) in the semifinals to advance to his fifth final at the venue, and his third of the season.
Djokovic previously defeated Jakub Mensik in the quarterfinals and staged a comeback from a set down to move past the Czech teen. He secured straight-set wins over Roman Safiullin, Flavio Cobolli, and Alex Michelsen before that.
Sinner registered a 6-4, 7-5 win over Tomas Machac to reach his first final at the Shanghai Masters, as well as his eighth of the season. He also assured himself the year-end No.1 ranking with his run here. He has dropped only one set en route to the final, which was against Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the third round.
Daniil Medvedev, Ben Shelton, and Taro Daniel were the other players taken down by Sinner. The Italian trails Djokovic 4-3 in the head-to-head, though he has made significant inroads in their rivalry over the past year. He lost their first three meetings and has now won three of their last four matches.
Sinner has beaten Djokovic in their last two encounters, including in the semifinals of this year's Australian Open, ending his title defense in Melbourne. The Serb is gunning for his milestone 100th career title and will need to beat the best player of the season to do so.
