"Olympia was SO excited" - Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian shares sweet note on behalf of daughter for Lupita Nyong'o after Athlos meet

Serena William's husband and the founder of Reddit, Alexis Ohanian, shared their daughter, Olympia's excitement after meeting Lupita Nyong'o at the inaugural Athlos NYC meet. Launched by Ohanian, the event was held on September 26 at Icahn Stadium.

The meet featured six events, the 200m, 100m, 100m hurdles, 400m, 800m, and 1500m. It starred some of the best athletes in the event and showcased terrific showdowns between Gabby Thomas and Brittany Brown in the 200m. Another was between Jasmine Camacho-Quinn and Masai Russell in the 100m hurdles event. Megan Thee Stallion also performed at the end of the meet.

Apart from these personalities, other renowned faces were also present in the audience, such as the actress Lupita Nyong'o, Shonda Rhimes, Olympian and former track and field athlete Justin Gatlin, Flavor Flav, and multiple others. Athlos NYC shared a post on its Instagram that carried a carousel of pictures of all the renowned faces, and the caption read:

"We see you - and appreciate you! - on this historic night: @lupitanyongo @shondarhimes @marsaimartin @justingatlin @nathalieemmanuel @thekidmero @flavorflavofficial"

Under this post, Alexis Ohanian shared Olympia's excitement about meeting "The Wild Robot" actress Lupita Nyong'o. He wrote in the comments:

Alexis Ohanian receives appreciation from Justin Gatlin for Athlos NYC

Justin Gatlin praised the selection of six best athletes for all the events and also loved the ambiance created by the DJ. He said on "Ready Set Go":

"I love the fact that it wasn't that they went out and just got six of the best in each of event to come out and really perform. People on the stands were relating to the athletes, they vibed with the music. You can tell like their attention was focused on the event itself, I loved it. I loved where they make sure DJ night had the music keep spinning. They did an amazing job. A+ for me bro, A+."

The winner of the six events at Athlos NYC received a prize money of $60,000, and the athletes who claimed third and fourth place received $25,000 and $10,000, respectively. Along with this, the contenders who finished from fourth to sixth were also offered prize money of $8,000, $5,000, and $2,500, respectively.
