Ons Jabeur delighted to receive special gift from Naomi Osaka's Victoria's Secret collection, thanks Japanese star
Tunisian tennis player Ons Jabeur was thrilled to receive a package containing the 'Naomi x Victoria's Secret' collection from Naomi Osaka herself.
Jabeur has had a rather underwhelming start to the 2023 season, having only won three out of her five matches so far. However, the Tunisian tennis star is set to kick off her campaign in Indian Wells against Magdalena Frech. Jabeur will look to breeze through to the third round without much difficulty.
The Tunisian's potential opponents in the quarter-finals include Daria Kasatkina and Elena Rybakina. With a favorable draw, she has a good chance of advancing to the semi-finals. If Jabeur brings her A-game, she could potentially win her second WTA 1000 title at Indian Wells.
Meanwhile, in February, Naomi Osaka announced her collaboration with Victoria's Secret for a new campaign. She gifted a package containing the collection to Ons Jabeur, who was incredibly grateful for the gesture.
On Friday, March 10, Jabeur took to social media to thank Osaka for the gift.
"Thank you @naomiosaka ❤️," Jabeur wrote on her Instagram story.
Ons Jabeur is excited to be a part of Naomi Osaka's sports agency
In January, Ons Jabeur became a part of Osaka's Evolve Sports Agency.
The sports management organization was founded by Naomi Osaka and Stuart Duguid in 2022 and currently represents athletes like Osaka and Nick Kyrgios, among others. Jabeur joined Evolve along with her business partner, Adel Aref.
Jabeur reacted to Evolve's announcement on social media.
"New year, new beginnings with Adel Aref and @thisisevolve," Jabeur wrote on social media.
The former World No.1 warmly welcomed Ons Jabeur to her sports agency via social media. In her message, the Japanese tennis star fondly reminisced about their first encounter during the WTA Rising Stars event in 2015, which was held in Singapore.
The tournament held just before the WTA Finals, showcased some of the most promising talents in the sport, including Osaka, Jabeur, Zhu Lin, and Caroline Garcia.
“I first met Ons at the WTA Rising Stars event in 2015, and my immediate thought while interacting with her was, ’Wow, she's the nicest person I’ve ever met," Osaka wrote.
She further explained how the World No. 4 made her feel welcome and comfortable by cracking jokes.
"I was extremely shy so all I could ever do was mumble out a few words but she always came up to me, cracked jokes and made me feel more comfortable," Osaka said.
