Pam Shriver finds Martina Navratilova memory featuring amusing Donald Trump connection while spring cleaning

Pam Shriver found an old photograph featuring herself and Martina Navratilova. Shriver found the photo while spring cleaning and clearing out the clutter in her residence in Los Angeles. The fires that ravaged the city have calmed down and interestingly, the photo had a Donald Trump connection.

On Friday, January 24, Pam Shriver took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared a photo of herself and Martina Navratilova from a press conference for a Battle of the Sexes doubles match against Bobby Riggs and Vitas Gerulaitis in 1985. In the picture, Riggs, Navratilova, and Shriver can be seen. The press conference was held at the now-defunct Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Hilariously, in the photo, the surname 'Trump', which was in the background, was reduced to 'Rump', which refers to the hind part of a mammal's body. Pam Shriver captioned the post:

"Fires have calmed down enough to start major Spring cleaning & decluttering. This photo is from a Battle of the Sexes doubles match ⁦@Martina⁩ & me vs Bobby Riggs (left) & Vitas G. Trumps Atlantic City Hotel hosted the match. The RUMP name made me chuckle."

Earlier this month, Shriver shared the news of a sad development after she had evacuated her family from their home to stay safe from the devastating LA firestorms.

As one of the co-coaches of WTA star Donna Vekic, Pam Shriver was expected to make the trip to Melbourne for the 2025 Australian Open. Unfortunately, the destructive fires in LA led to Shriver prioritizing her family's safety. A concerned Vekic also paid a tribute to the city as it reeled in the wake of the fires.

While the former WTA singles No. 3 and doubles No. 1 managed to get her family out of trouble, the car they used to get out of harm's way was later stolen. Shriver reported the development to the police and also posted about it on X, revealing that she had stored the majority of her Grand Slam trophies in the car.

"My son & I are at a police station reporting our car was stolen from the hotel parking lot we evacuated to when fires started. This was the car that had most of my major trophies being stored until we could safely move back home," Shriver wrote.

Shriver won 21 Grand Slam doubles titles during her playing career. She won 20 of them alongside Martina Navratilova.
