The 52nd edition of the Paris Masters will start on October 27, and we are in for some exciting tennis on the indoor hardcourts at the French capital. Novak Djokovic won the tournament in 2023 but has withdrawn from this year's edition.

What is the Paris Masters?
The Paris Masters is a hardcourt event, which is the last Masters 1000 tournament of the 2024 ATP Tour. The inaugural edition took place in 1969, with Dutchman Tom Okker beating Butch Buchholz in the final.
Novak Djokovic is the most successful player in the history of the tournament, with seven titles. The likes of Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, Andy Murray and Boris Becker have also triumphed in Paris.

Players
While Novak Djokovic is not competing, there are a lot of quality players who are taking part. World No. 1 Jannik Sinner has been in the form of his life and has won three Masters 1000 events in 2024 in addition to two Grand Slams.
The Italian will begin his campaign in Paris against Felix Auger-Aliassime or Ben Shelton. Second seed Carlos Alcaraz will also be among the favorites to triumph at the Masters 1000 tournament and will be eager to have a good run after his quarter-final exit in Shaghai. The Spaniard's second-round match will be against Nicolas Jarry or a qualifier.
Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev are seeded third and fourth, respectively, and they are both capable of going deep in Paris. Zverev will start his campaignn at the tournament against Luciano Darderi or Tallon Griekspoor, while Medvedev will take on Matteo Berrettini or Alexei Popyrin.
The likes of Andrey Rublev, Taylor Fritz and last year's runner-up Grigor Dimitrov are all quality players who have a fair chance of making it deep at the Paris Masters.
Schedule
The main draw at Paris Masters 2024 will start on October 28, and the first round will end on October 29, which is also the day when the second round will commence.
The quarter-finals are scheduled for November 1, while the semi-finals will be played on November 2. The singles and doubles will take place on Sunday, November 3.
